Collection: Rising... This collection contains 8 pieces that are made by gesso, Acrylic, sand texture and modeling texture. These works with the theme of decolonizing, concentrating on individuals going through the journey of change and trying to get back what they lost, what they missed, what they used to be. It portrays getting rid of the past and moving on to a better future by having a vision and a goal, the path that is not easy, it is a long and suffering path, and sometimes harmful, but the result is joyful for the one who has been through it. The flat surfaces represent the people who just live their lives without any substantial change or hope, amongst them, there are only a few who want to evolve, grow and better their life based on their vision and what they expect from this world. They are also metaphor of oppression like how the water fellow flattens a hard piece of stone after passing time and it changes not only the inner character, but the identity and whatever that made them. Each of the spots on the paintings, signifies a person’s soul, that are all rising from their troubled past and striving for a better tomorrow, they are screams fighting the whirlpool around them. The masses are metaphor of self-change, struggle, and challenges, with different aspects of the lives of the people who are trying to let go of the colonising path and find their true self that defines the real meaning of their existing. Factors such as forcing culture, religions, political view, and the society, colonise a person and has built its core but truly it is not the reality. If anyone want to change and decolonise themselves from the forced habits that were and are pressured on them, they can change the world by pulling themselves up and uplift the rest of the society with them and find peace and happiness. Saving the world primarily starts with saving ourselves.

Love the new artwork in my office and living room. It lifts us up everyday, acts as a conversation piece in Zoom calls, and we love the most being able to support artists in our communities as well.
