Firouzeh Saremi Far

Artist member since 2022
Toronto, Ontario

Firouzeh Saremi Far is a Toronto-based visual artist who seeks to explore how social, emotional, and environmental narratives are shaped through sculpture and painting. Her work delves into themes of identity, transformation, hope, and resilience, reflecting on how human experience is continually shaped by the forces of the surrounding world. Drawing inspiration from the emotional intensity of Expressionism, the conceptual clarity of Minimalism and Post-Minimalism, and the boundless forms of Abstract Art, she aims to create works that invite quiet reflection alongside vivid expression.

Her process is material-driven, combining sculpture, painting, and mixed media, as she works to translate emotional states into tangible form. Using metal, wood, and mixed media, she integrates geometric and organic shapes to explore the tension between structure and emotion, control and spontaneity. Color functions as an expressive language of energy and human connection, allowing personal narratives to be transformed into shared experiences and using art as a vehicle for empathy, reflection, and healing.

She has participated in residencies such as the Gibraltar Point Residency (Toronto Island, Canada) and the Cultural Immersion Residency (Oaxaca, Mexico). These experiences have shaped her approach to materiality, storytelling, and spatial awareness. During the 62nd Toronto Outdoor Art Fair in 2023, she received several awards, including the Best of Student Award, Artscape Solo Exhibition and Residency Award, and the Marie Collins Memorial Award. In 2025, she was selected for the Akin Career Launcher Award; receiving a studio space and a solo exhibition at Remote Gallery and was later honoured with the Juror’s Award of Excellence at the Ontario Juried Art Exhibition, Thames Art Gallery.

Currently, Firouzeh is developing her latest collection, Breakthrough, which reflects narratives of hope, conflict, and renewal through layered materials and spatial tension. Ultimately, her goal is to create art that acts as a catalyst for reflection and engagement, encouraging viewers to contemplate their relationship with the world and their own emotional landscapes.
