Firouzeh Saremi Far is a Toronto-based visual artist whose practice investigates the intersections of sculpture, installation, and painting to explore hope, resilience, transformation, identity, and the relationship between human experience, material, and the environment. Her work examines how personal and collective experiences are shaped by social, emotional, and environmental forces, translating these complex narratives into immersive spatial experiences. Her material-driven process combines sculpture, mixed media, and painting to transform emotional and psychological states into tangible forms. Through the interplay of geometric and organic structures, she explores the tension between strength and vulnerability, order and spontaneity, permanence and change. Color functions as an expressive language of energy and human connection, while nature serves as a continual source of inspiration, informing her understanding of growth, adaptation, and renewal. Drawing inspiration from the quiet resilience found in natural systems and the ways individuals navigate adversity, her practice investigates how material, form, and space can embody transformation. โ International artist residencies and cross-cultural research experiences have played a significant role in the evolution of her practice, deepening her exploration of materiality, spatial thinking, and immersive sculptural environments. Her practice has been recognized through awards and professional opportunities, including the Best of Student Award and the Marie Collins Memorial Award at the Toronto Outdoor Art Fair, the Akin Career Launcher Award, and the Juror's Award of Excellence at the Ontario Juried Art Exhibition, reflecting the continued recognition of her contributions to contemporary sculpture and installation. โ โCurrently, Firouzeh is in the early stages of developing her latest body of work, "Against the Weight", which explores themes of transformation, conflict, and renewal through layered materials and spatial tension. Ultimately, her goal is to create immersive sculptural environments that investigate the relationship between materiality, architecture, and embodied spatial experience, inviting viewers to reflect on their relationship with the built environment, nature, and their own emotional landscapes.
